Timeframes
A timeframe is the duration of one candle on the chart. M1 = each candle = 1 minute of price action.
Timeframe comparison
M1 (1 minute)
Lots of noise, for scalping. Suitable only for the experienced.
M5 (5 minutes)
A balance of signal and speed. Recommended.
M15 (15 minutes)
Cleaner signals. Fewer trades.
H1 (1 hour)
Long-term analysis. High accuracy.
The golden rule of expiration
Expiration time = 3-5 candles on your timeframe. • Trading on M1 → expiration 3-5 minutes • Trading on M5 → expiration 15-25 minutes • Trading on M15 → expiration 45-75 minutes
